The Jacaranda Ensemble returned just a few days ago from its long
concert tour
The
five Brandenburg musicians of the Jacaranda Ensemble have covered
almost 34,000 kilometres during their latest tour. Thomas Hoffmann,
Matthias Dressler, Richard Mosthaf, Sebastian Pietsch and Thomas
Ringleb held concerts in various regions of China and fascinated
around 10,000 people.
Thomas
Hoffmann explained that the highlight of this year’s tour was the
concert on July 11th in the Shenzhen Concert Hall, a location which
enjoys high acclaim among musicians from all over the world for its
excellent acoustics. A further highlight was the concert on July 12th
in the Guangzhou Zhongshan Memorial Hall in which Jacaranda played in
front of an audience of over 3000 people.
The
guests went wild with excitement, they kept snapping away madly with
their cameras to keep the concert a living memory. The Brandenburg
musicians had to sign many an autograph that night.
The
Jacaranda Ensemble, made up of musicians and soloists from the
Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra, already visited the People’s
Republic of China on tour in 2007 and 2008. The Chinese concert
promoters have told Jacaranda that they will of course be organizing
another tour because "not
all of China’s inhabitants have been lucky enough to see them yet." MAZ
